Bandung (ANTARA) - West Java Governor M. Ridwan Kamil (Emil) pointed to the interest shown by Pakistani Ambassador to Indonesia Abdul Salik Khan in several superior programs in West Java Province, including the Digital Village and Mesra Credit.

"I highlight to you the potential of West Java and strongly intend to emulate some West Java's champion programs," Governor Emil remarked after hosting dinner for Pakistani Ambassador to Indonesia Abdul Salik Khan in Bandung on Wednesday (July 17) night.

Governor Emil noted that the West Java provincial government had several opportunities to forge cooperation with Pakistan in areas ranging from investment and public service programs to the fields of religion and education.

Moreover, Emil highlighted the fact that one-third of Pakistan's investment in Indonesia was in West Java, so it held a crucial role in Indonesia's cooperation with Pakistan.

"Pakistan is strong in the area of textiles. Our strength lies in several commodities, such as technology," he stated.

"The Pakistani ambassador expressed optimism that I would pay a visit there at the start of next year to invest in Pakistan while applying village concepts that are deemed suitable," he added. Related news: Indonesia, Pakistan agree to enhance bilateral trade
