The police have identified his attackers as the Jhon Yogi group.
Jayapura (ANTARA News) - The body of police officer Brigadier Yohan Kasimatau, who was shot dead by a rebel group on Tuesday, will be transferred from Nabire to Jayapura on Thursday, Senior Commissioner Johanes Nugroho, a spokesman for the Papua police said.

Kasimatau, a Paniai district police officer, was attacked while he was alone and washing a police car at the Enarotali air terminal complex near Lake Paniai.

The police have identified his attackers as the Jhon Yogi group, which consists of six armed members. The assailants reportedly fled on a speed boat after killing the officer.

Nugroho said that Kasimatau`s body was flown from Enaroali to Nabire on Wednesday, and is expected to be brought to the Sentani airport in Jayapura later on Thursday.

"The body of Yohan Kasimatau is expected to arrive at the Sentani airport from Nabire at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon local time," he added.
