Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Government of Indonesia condemned the terror act in Tehran, Iran, on Wednesday, killing at least 13 people.

"Indonesia reaffirms that terror act is a crime that could not be justified, no matter what the motive, where, when, and by whom it is done," the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on an official statement here, Thursday.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi has made a phone call to her Iranian counterpart to express condolences and the deepest sympathy to all the victims and their family.

Suicide bombers and gunmen attacked the Iranian parliament and a mausoleum in Tehran on Wednesday.

At least 13 people were killed while 43 were wounded due to the attack, Reuters reported.

Isis claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The Indonesian Embassy in Tehran continued to follow the development of the situation in Iran and have been coordinating with the local authority.

The embassy reported that no Indonesian citizens were among the victims of the attack in Tehran.

Indonesian citizens in Iran are urged to remain alert and to avoid areas prone to terror attack in Iran.
